Aarrgghh!!

The Running Man Clock

The Concept

In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger, starred in a movie named The Running Man about a futuristic game show wherein prisoners fought against modern gladiators where the prize is freedom, the gamble, death. With the rise of exploitative reality tv shows, it's only a matter of time before the ultimate exploitative reality show concept, will become... well... reality.

In 1947, a group of scientists started to describe humanity's distance from nuclear war as a clock's distance from midnight. Basically, world events drive the clock closer or further away from midnight as the world becomes more or less dangerous vis a vis nuclear war. They call it the Doomsday clock.

Therefore, in the style of the Doomsday clock, I bring you the Running Man Clock.
