Aarrgghh!!

Rove Watch - Cigars for Indictments

Atrios keeps talking about the Champagne he's going to drink if one of the major jackasses in the administration get's indicted.

I'm going to do one better. I'm going to have cigars if Libby, Cheney or Rove get indicted. Not only am I going to have cigars, but I will share them with anyone who signs up on this entry. This will be up to a limit of 24, or a box of 25 minus one for me.

However, there are qualitative differences between the relative worth of these convictions, and also of their likelyhood. So I'm establishing the following payoff chart:

I figure this deal will be good for one year. As soon as the indictment is confirmed, I will buy the box and distribute within a month. If all three get indicted anyone who signs up gets all three. If more than one gets indicted within a month of another I will stagger the payouts. The only catch is that you have receive them from me. I'm not shipping them anywhere. Come to Philly, or wait until I get to your city.

So if you are a raging a liberal and love cigars, get in on this while the getting is good. Also if you have any other cigar/jackass combo drop me a line.

Update:To answer Dan's question, yes you can be right wing to get in on the deal, but you have to be genuinely happy to see the indictment. So a traditional conservative who hates where his party is going - You're fine. If on the other hand, you think that Rick Santorum is the future... Well just have faith that God will provide you with cigars. I, however, will not.

If you are looking for an under-45 minute smoke, I just smoked the Zino Platinum Scepter Shorty. I wrote it up in today's blog. Check it out

Aarrgghh Guy! $7-9 for a petite corona. That sounds to me like a bad value. Value is an important component to my evaluations. I think there are too many high priced cigars whose experience can be gain with a cheaper alternatives. Granted I like some more expensive cigars. However I thing cigars that are worth it are few and far between.

Plus for some reason I think that all of Zino Davidoff's brands are overpriced. It's a personal thing.

Shouldn't Rove merit something grander - like his indictment would be? I suggest an Fuente Fuente Opus X ...

Aarrgghh Guy! This is my little giveaway, and my favorite cigar is the Ashton Cabinet #2.

You can through your own little Rove cigar party and give out whatever you see fit.

Actually I was disappointed with the Fuente Fuente Opus X.

Raging liberal! Love cigars!

Aarrgghh Guy! I'm not shipping them to you, Mensch. But I'll bring them down when I come down in December.

Of course they are overpriced, isn't everything that is German in this country overpriced. Don't forget, we in the NJ/NY area absorb a higher cigar tax than PA.

What puzzles me is your coolness toward the Opus X. Granted, the tobacco coming from the Dominican Republic isn't what it was 4 or 5 years ago when the Opus X was in its prime. However, the smoke is still elegant and well made. No one is even close to catching the Nicaraguans when it comes to quality products as the Padron Anniversario has been number 1 for a good long time.

I have enjoyed the La Aurora 100 Anos and think it is a close close second to the Padron. Have you tried one yet?

Looks like you may have to make a trip to Holts tomorrow...

Posted by: mensch at October 25, 2005 6:54 PM

Aarrgghh Guy! MyManMisterC: I haven't tried the La Aurora yet, but I'll give 'em them a try on your recomendation. As for the Opus X, I think they had just been overhyped by the time I had them.

Mensch: Happiest trip to Holt's I will ever have.
