I made Good Eats
We were watching Good Eats last weekend when I decided that a Cheese Souffle looked really tasty. That night, we got a cassarole dish, that while not really a souffle, looks like one if you don't look too closely.
Tuesday night, I made the Cheese Souffle. I still had the episode on my TiVo, so I watched it again and let it run while I was cooking, so I could hear Alton Brown's tips that didn't make it into the recipie online, like working with cold egg yolks, but room temperature whites.
The souffle was delicious. It turned out perfectly. Terry and I ate it for dinner without even giving it time to set properly, because the whole house had smelled wonderful for a half hour and we couldn't wait any more. Going back for seconds, the texture was more solid, so it was even better.
I think this is going to go into the dinner rotation. I may even look for other recipies and variations. And I definitely have to try out more Good Eats recipies!

Google Earth is cool...and I was really close!
So, back in July, I obsessively tried to figure out the filiming location for the Coke Chilltop commercial. I saw the commercial again today and decided to fire up Google Earth. I never checked it again after they added more detail. I can now conclusively say that the location of the Chilltop commercial is 11th & Catherine. I was only off by one block!

Patience
I took a really cool picture while out on a walk today. It was a rare display of patience on my part waiting for the butterfly to open up. But it was worth it.

Restaurant Week Returns
Kris' birthday is coming up in a week, and in the city of Philadelphia, that means one thing: It's time for Restaurant Week!
Okay, so maybe it's not Restaurant Week because it's her birthday, but they always fall close together, so we tend to take advantage of it Last year we went to Sotto Varelli. The year before, Brasserie Perrier.
Where to this year? I don't know, as it's not *my* birthday. It may be a little harder to choose this year, as the list seems to lean towards seafood restaurants and Kris doesn't like seafood.
It appears that I will be making two Restaurant Week trips this year, though - Terry wants to go to Marrakesh, so I guess we're going to Marrakesh!
