Why do people watch this stuff?

So, TiVo didn't get NBC's latest schedule changes and started taping the season opener of "Average Joe 4" instead of "Law & Order SVU."

I have to say, L&O looks much less violent and cruel.

I watched AJ for about 10 minutes in morbid facination, much they way people rubberneck at highway wrecks...Why do people watch this stuff? Why would anyone want to see nice, smart people who are unlucky at love and/or socially awkward, or even just really in need of a good haircut be manipulated, scorned, tricked, and then physically intimidated on television? And *then* talked into unnecessary plastic surgery while they're down?

Didn't we all long to graduate high school to get away from this sort of thing? How could this sort of cruelty make it to television for *several* seasons? I just don't get it.

Thank goodness TiVo recorded another "Good Eats" while I was out...now that's good reality tv...

I'm a webmaster now!

Scary, huh? But check it out - TeamDelawareSynchro.com is the site for the Synchronized Skating Program at the University of Delaware, where I do my team skating.

To put the site together, I modified the design Terry made for me when I was trying to create a site for just my team. Now, I just update the information and introduce wacky, obscure errors into the CSS.

However, I was particularly proud last night, when I got the cgi photo script working. I want to do more tweaking to it, so that means it's not finished, but it dynamically creates the page for photos, so that doesn't have to be done by hand. Of course, I didn't write it from scratch, because I just don't do that ever. But I made it work, and I made it look like the rest of the site. For that, I am proud. Go, view my handiwork!

A new look & a new name

And a new address! Update your bookmarks (all 4 of you that read this)!

Terry and I bought our own domain for the express purpose of having a place to do wedding stuff, but decided to make it our internet home.

Terry wanted to give each part of the site a different onomatopoeic name. I think "Doink!" was the first thing that popped into my head. I think it's fun to say. I just say it randomly now. "DOINK!"

With a new name and a new address, I had to have a new look too! I think this color goes a little better with the serene vibe of the Numtopia front page. To give credit where it's due, this is a slightly modified version of Winter Wonder from MovableStyle.com. I couldn't get behind the snowflakes in June, but I like the rest.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a date!

We've gotten our paperwork from the church, so I think it's pretty official now - Terry and I are getting married on Sept 16, 2006.

We will forever share this anniversary date with:

Natalie Cole
and
Susan Sarandon

Definitely an odd mix...
