4 down, 999,996 to go...

I'm sick again. Another sinus infection. I've been feeling fairly awful, but decided to take a stab at looking at a computer screen tonight.

I've started playing Freecell. At first, I played randomly, whatever it gave me. Then I started playing in order.

I've successfully completed four games. The amount of time this has taken me, while not explicitly measured, is a clear indication that I am still not well. That, and the fact that I still feel awful. Moe.

Haircut - Before and After

I got my haircut today and it's quite a dramatic change. But I like it, don't you?

Disney Vacation Club

On the Saturday of our long weekend trip, I talked Kris into going to a presentation on the Disney Vacation Club. After much mulling and talking it over, we decided to join. We finished signing all the paperwork , so it's finally official! I've never considered a timeshare or vacation plan before, but it seemed like a good deal, and then Kris crunched the numbers just to be sure. I trust her. She's my math person. :)

Since I went, I've heard from other people that went to timeshare presentations about how harsh and high pressure they can be. But Disney was very nice. They gave us snacks and drinks and instead of attending a boring presentation, we got a one-on-one consultation with Aaron, our DVC guy. When we told him we were smart and understood math, he skipped a lot of the boring stuff because we understood what he was saying right away. He also didn't try to sell us more than we needed or wanted. We took a tour, got our take-home packet of information, and then had ice cream before a van came and whisked us back to an evening at the Magic Kingdom. It was really nice. So we joined, and we're very excited about it.

If you're interested in finding out more, you should email Aaron. He's really nice - he even called after we got home to make sure we had a safe trip (and when Terry answered, he made sure to tell him it was business related, in case Terry is the jealous type - I thought it was unnecessary, but very sweet.)! His email address is Aaron (dot) Pearce (at) disney (dot) com.

We'll be trying it out for our first visit in May. Yay! Mickey!

This makes me feel happy

So, I was in the car this morning on the way to work, and when I turned on the radio, "Hey Ya!" by Outkast was on. It got me thinking of this Charlie Brown Hey Ya video, which I hadn't watched in a long, long time. But it's so good. It's so well timed to the music. It's really worth watching, even if, as I did, you have to google to find something that will allow you to play Quicktime files without all the nagging from Apple.

Ctrl-Alt-End

I can never remember this Windows combination, but it's really important - it's how to send a Ctrl-Alt-Del to a Remote Desktop session!

I love Disney

So, it's been almost a month since Kris and I went to Disney World. What a great trip! I forgot how much I really love Disney. I completely regress to around 7-years-old while I'm there. I mean, I see a character I love, and I look like a kid in a tv commercial, albeit taller. I stop in my tracks, mid-word, perhaps, and my jaw drops and I get really excited. I walked around most of the weekend wearing Eeyore ears ('cause I've done the Minnie thing several times now). This turned out to be much fun at a lunch with the Pooh characters. Eeyore refused to let go of my arm, and Tigger actually got kinda mad at me, as he felt I should be wearing *his* ears. He took the Eeyore ears right off my head!
We're going to go back in May and take the boyfriends with us this time. I can't wait!
