This is why I like nature
I'm not a super-eco-friendly person, but I try to turn off the lights when I'm not using them, and not waste water. We pay extra so that we get some power from wind farms. I would like a hybrid car someday. We recycle cans and glass jars. Why? Because it's the right thing to do.
Why? Because nature does good things for us. Just ask these people who were saved by some dolphins while swimming near Austrailia. A great white shark was coming near, and the dolphins herded them together, then circled to keep the shark away.
That's something that dolphins will do to to protect their young, but these dolphins decided that a few people deserved the same protection as their own kin.
We should really do the same for dolphins, whales, birds, bears, and owls. There are lots of times when we could do something good to protect more vulnerable creatures, and we just don't think about it. But we really should.
So turn off the water when you brush your teeth. Cut up six-pack rings before you throw them out. Buy recycled paper. Save a fish, or a turtle, or a woodchuck. You'd want them to do the same for you.
